A. Partnership Professors-Students
The University is involved in a partnership between its professors and students, to insure the development of a participative learning process, giving the proper attention to the achievement of a qualitative education, the University also intends to shape the behavior of the students.
The founding Rector of the University aims to promote a deep involvement in the academic life and to insure a personalized educational experience. The purpose of this preoccupation is to create a maximum synergic effect between the quality of the programs, the professionalism of the teaching stuff, the exceptional material bases and the effort of each and every student.
The students of the Romanian-American University are dialog partners, having representatives in the university Senate, the faculty Councils and the Consultative Council of the students, through which they promote their opinions and needs concerning the educational process, but also student life. Using the experience of some American Universities, the students participate to an annual evaluation of the teaching stuff, they are asked to give their opinion about the education plans, the activity of the administrative personnel, their opinion being taken into consideration in the decision making. The University also promotes a close relation with the students parents, characterized by an open dialog and their constant involvement in the life and activity of the University.
B. The academic and extra academic preoccupations of the students
A correct and accurate evaluation of the students who have studied at the Romanian-American University or of the 10.000 studying at present would be difficult to do. One thing is sure that, the efforts of the persons who have taken the responsibility for the management of this institution have constantly been directed towards a diversified and qualitative offer and towards the good of the students. The students’ preoccupations have been varied since the beginning: the professional ones (educational and research) have combined with the ones concerning the internal and international inter-university relations, but also the cultural, artistic and sportive ones.
At present the University is educating students from all the counties of the country, but also from other countries (USA, Germany, Moldavian Republic, China, Liban, etc.) as well as students of Romanian origin from USA and Israel.
Out of all the students, 56% are girls and 44% boys. Most of them are from Bucharest (over 60%) and from less than 120 km distance, while 28% are from cities like: Buz?u, Bac?u, Piatra Neamt, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Constanta, Ploiesti, Focsani, Pitesti, Tulcea, Galati, etc.
Extra professional activities are materialized in:

- and associations (Student Club and Club of Eco-tourism, Rural Tourism and Agro-tourism)

C. Students - promoters of the university image
The students are actively involved in the promotion program for the image of the University through their own results that prove the quality of the educational act in the Romanian-American University, as well as through the active promotion of the image among the pupils and some interested social categories (employees, investors, ONGs).
An active promotion of the university image is due to the deserving graduates appreciated at work.
The students of the university are the best ambassadors for the institution where they are studying and for Romania, within the international context.
On different occasions, messages and letters have arrived on the address of the Romanian-American University, containing congratulations for the students with scholarships at James Madison University. Among these:
"I am honored by the wonderful young people representing your university this year at James Madison University, they are doing very well and they are admirable ambassadors of your country and institution." (Ronald Carrier, J.M.U.Chancellor)
It was a great honor for me to be near the students of the RAU, at James Madison University. I was impressed by their talent and capacity. I can only hope that the future associations bring a close collaboration between the two universities, so as to be proud that we were an instrument in the fulfillment of the future of the Romanian democracy. The pride to be a student in a elite University is acquired through a process that begins on the first day of student life and until you become a graduate.
