American MBA at the Romanian-American University
DeSales University in Pennsylvania, USA, in cooperation with the
Romanian-American University, will launch in April 2007, the
first American MBA in Romania and Europe even, having
project management as major.
To this end, Mr. Mohamed Latib, Ph. D., Director MBA programme, and Mr.Galen Godbey, Ph. D., associate to the president for globalization within DeSales University, were in Romania during 4th-8th of December 2006. Throughout their stay, they met businessmen, representatives of companies and institutions who were interested in improving their human resources.
Prof. Mohamed Latib insisted on mentioning during a talk with Mr. rector Ion Smedescu, Ph. D., that:
"Our relationship with the Romanian-American University has always been warm, but this cooperation proposal within an international-scale programme proves once again that we hold this institution in high esteem."
It has equally been mentioned that this MBA programme targets professionals and employees who need such a major. The graduates of various higher education institutions, who wish to apply, need to have practical experience of no less than 2 years.
The American MBA requires each student's covering of 12 distinct courses at the end of which they will receive a diploma granted by DeSales University, acknowledged in America as well as in Europe. Every graduate will train for passing an exam that will guarantee him/her receipt of
PMP (project management professional) status. This certificate is globally acknowledged and it enables the owner to attain a high salary level as well as a better integration into the labour market. The 12 courses will be gradually covered by the students according to their learning capacity and the available time, within a period of 2 to 5 years.
Professors from DeSales University will come to Romania for course delivering, but the e-learning method will be used as well. Students will have access to the electronic library of DeSales University.
The courses will be held in the campus of the Romanian-American University, starting with 18.00 up to 21.30.
Market research indicates that there is high demand for this field of specialization on the labour market. Many people and institutions have already manifested their interest in the DeSales MBA within the Romanian-American University.
