In may 2005, with the finnancial support of JTI, a new department has been opened at Romanian-American University: the Romanian-Japonese Studies Center
. At the inauguration ceremony, besides students and faculty, there was the cultural affairs officer of the Japanese Embassy and representatives of JTI.
The activities of the Centre was financially supported by JTI. The centre has also received technical and teaching support from the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest.
Main objectives of the RJSC:
Japanese language classes for beginer and intermediate level students. (The classes are held with the help of Japanese Embassy)
the development of specialized library and research center
partenerships between Romanian Japanese Center and Japanese Universities in developing finnancial studies and research
series of meetings between japanese investors and romanian students
researches concerning the impact of foreign direct investements (especialy japanese related) developed by students and professors involved in Centerís activities. The results will be published in Romanian Business and Economic Review
conferinces on economic topics in the context of the globalisation, highlithing Japonese policy on this.
a colaboration between japonese language theacher and the others researchers involved in economic studies, in order to translate some representative works on economic and trade subjects.
