The "Murray Rothbard" Center of Political Economy and Business and the Romanian-American University organize, starting with
October 2010, the program Mastering Economic Journalism for the journalists concerned about the economic field.
This program consists of a series of inter-active courses, the Henry Hazlitt Annual Award to the journalist who has the most significant
contributions to the dissemination of the economic liberty benefits, meetings with students and other events. The first of the workshops -
"Why the current policies sabotage the way out of crisis?" - aims to clear up the reasons of the current crisis and particularly to show
why the re-launching policies of various states cannot have the expected success, as they contribute to worsening the lack of poise and delay
the return to a sustained economic growth.
Other issues submitted to the future debates are:
1. Where does the economic growth come from? How to get rich without producing damages to others?
2. The monetary policy. How to get rich and nobody feels damaged?
3. Where does the illusory economic growth come from? Why we got poor during the boom?
4. The economic calculation, socialism and interventionism. How is the anarchy set up from the center?
5. Economic history: crisis and intervention. The thief, the wild capitalist and the bureaucrat.
6. The current economic crisis- global view. Who responds of being a world crisis?
7. The current economic crisis-Romania. What was the Romanian National Bank doing during the last 5 years?
8. The recovery policy- or how to secure ourselves from drowning pulling one-another our hair up.
9. The anti-crisis policies in Romania.
The program, coordinated by Dr. Bogdan Glavan, will run as a weekly workshop and will include 50% presentations and 50% debates. The meetings
will be held weekly, Tuesday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00.

Culture of Challenge, Creativity & Innovation - HONDA
The Embassy of Japan in Romania and the Romanian-American University through the Romanian-Japanese Studies Center invite
you at the "Culture of Challenge, Creativity & Innovation" conference held by Professor Saburo Kobayashi.
The event will take place on Wednesday, the 13th of October, 11:00 hours, in Aula Magna, Romanian-American University, Bucharest.
The source of innovation that supported the strong economic growth of Japan after the World War II lies not in a particularly talented group of
engineers, nor in an elite of managers with MBA, but in some visionary leaders that continuously thought about what the real purpose of a
company is and what real "value" means, and also in the specificity of Japanese company culture, possibly due to the enthusiasm and the
patience of the technical staff responding to that "vision". Taking HONDA Company as an example, which, from a provincial plant,
in just a few decades has become a world-known company, this seminar analyses what kind of “values” the companies could stand for in society,
on a business globalization background.
Saburo Kobayashi worked for HONDA Company from 1971 to 2005, as General MG and was part of the team that introduced on the market
the airbag technology. Currently is Visiting Professor at Chuo University, Graduate School of Strategic Management, Lecturer at Waseda
University, Graduate School of Science & Engineering and Lecturer at Hitotsubashi University, Graduate School of International Corp.
